Page six reports that a B-17 carrying famed American World War I ace Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker went missing 11 days ago over the Pacific. Following his inspection tour of Allied airpower in Britain, he was beginning a similar tour of the Pacific air forces and planned to to deliver a secret message from Pres. Roosevelt to Gen. Douglas MacArthur. Their last stop was Canton Island, some 1,600 nautical miles south of Honolulu…. Speaking of Rickenbacker, he used to write the script for the 1930s comic strip Ace Drummond. The illustrator, Clayton Knight, also flew warplanes during World War I and he is publishing a series of illustrated articles on Allied air forces in Europe. which begins on page nine…
