TO
PRIVATE MACK KENNEDY

CITATION:

Private Mack Kennedy, 6574308, Infantry, Company “D”, 411th Infantry Regiment. For heroism in action. During the daylight hours of 13 November 1944, in the vicinity of * * * , France, Private Kennedy was pinned to the ground by intense enemy artillery, mortar, and small arms fire. Observing a wounded comrade about 50 yards distant lying in an exposed position, he courageously left his sheltered position and dashed boldly to his side. As enemy fire raked his path, he, with utter disregard for his life, picked up the wounded man and carried him to safety. As a result of Private Kennedy’s outstanding valor in the face of terrific hostile fire, a wounded comrade was carried to protection where medical attention was rendered efficiently and expeditiously. Residence: Littlefield, Texas.
