American air forces are hammering targets all across the Western Hemisphere: Alaska, Guadalcanal, Wake (see front page)… Speaking of Guadalcanal, the 1st Marine Division has already left the island and the Japanese war planners have decided it’s time to pull their soldiers too… Sports section begins on page 20, which features a Grantland Rice column. Georgia shut out UCLA in the Rose Bowl 9-0.
