Maj. Elbert S. Maloney talks about the bravery of Marine Corps wire repairers on page 16. Maloney goes on to write the bible on recreational boating: Chapman Piloting: Seamanship & Small Boat Handling, which is so popular 68th editions have been published… Another Marine, 1st Lt. Kenneth A. Walsh discusses Japanese aerial combat tactics on page 22. Walsh enlisted in the Marines in 1933 and was awarded his aviator wings while still a private. The enlisted pilot rose to the rank of Marine Gunner in 1942 and has since been commissioned. He bagged his first kills on April 1 and has since added 19 more…
