Major Kermit Roosevelt, son of President Theodore Roosevelt, has passed away in Alaska. He had been serving as an intelligence officer. His son Kermit Jr. is also an intelligence officer and was stationed at the same base — Fort Richardson. The article mentions another Roosevelt son serving in the Pacific: Archibald Roosevelt is a battalion commander in the 162nd Infantry Regiment. Their brother Theodore Roosevelt Jr. just concluded the North African campaign. All fought in the 1st Infantry Division during the First World War.
Theodore Jr. also has sons in the war: Kermit II fought with his father in North Africa, Cornelius V.S. Roosevelt III is a lieutenant (junior grade) in Naval intelligence, and Theodore III is a Naval aide. Their cousin Archibald Jr. also works in intelligence and served in North Africa.
Speaking of Teddy Roosevelts: Theodore IV will become a Navy SEAL during the Vietnam War.
