The no-confidence vote against Winston Churchill has been defeated 475-25, and stories about the British prime minister and his speech are found throughout today’s edition… Ted Williams was pulled from yesterday’s game and fined for lackadaisical play against Washington, the story begins on the front page. “The Kid” is currently batting .336, 66 points below his batting average at this point last season… Page four discusses the new Army Air Force flight strips that are popping up all across the country…
On page five we learn of the American naval base in Londonderry, Northern Ireland.
