World War II valor awards update

There doesn’t appear to be much recent activity on the website, but we are hard at work uploading thousands of citations for valor during World War II. As it stands right now we have nearly 1,000 citations spanning from the Civil War up to the Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syrian campaigns, but right now we are focusing heavily on 1942 Navy Cross recipients from the U.S. Marine Corps.

Our goal at Unto the Breach is to arrange the citations in such a way that they come together to tell a story. For example, you can view our database of citations chronologically, like a page for USMC recipients of the Navy Cross in 1942, or certain major campaigns will have their own page and you can see a chronological list of all valor awards (Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, and the Silver Star) for the Battle of Midway for example.
