Page two mentions a Royal Air Force squadron commemorating a fallen comrade named Dickie Lee. Flight Lieutenant Richard “Dickie” Lee notched No. 85 Squadron’s first victory of the war when he splashed a Heinkel He-111 bomber on Nov. 21, 1939. He shot down eight more enemy warplanes in his Hawker Hurricane before he went missing over the English Channel on Aug. 18, 1940.
