CITATION:
Lieutenant Colonel Richard T. Blomberg, Jr. distinguished himself by extraordinary achievement as an RC-135C Electronic Warfare Officer, 55th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, from 3 September 1967 to 23 February 1968. During this period, Colonel Blomberg flew extremely hazardous missions in support of the Strategic Air Command’s deterrent capability. The successful completion of these missions contributed immeasurably to an Air Force program of vital international significance. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Colonel Blomberg reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
