I am starting to believe that Buck's "I would gladly participate" statement is a bunch of bs. Tsk, tsk, Buck. Not nice to tell fibs.

Both myself and wife have IRA's, and we must take out a specified amount of money each year that has never been taxed. As of this coming year I must take out about 30 G that I will have to pay income tax on. Why not redo the IRS rules that would force the very wealthy to take out more money depending on their net worth and amount of money in their IRA. Or even better yet, have all IRA holders remove their untaxed money at a higher rate. Any comments???
Knowing that you and I are essentially the same age, and knowing what I had to pull from my 401K for this year, I extrapolate that you have somewhere between $650,000 and $725,000 left in you 401K. Good on you!! Most retirees do not have this kind of moneys in their supplemental retirement funds.
To assuage your feelings of guilt I propose you immediately send a check to the US Government for at least $300,000.00.
Obviously, these moneys would only be used for the public "good"!. This will release you from the guilty knowledge that you haven't redistributed your wealth to meet the Obamanations need for income "equality"!!!. I'm sure you'll receive an "atta boy" from the marxist in chief. What more could you ask??

Yes, there are loop holes but you didn't answer my question. What is not taxed?

Wing, I don't have to write a check, just move some of my IRA money with Vanguard into our taxable joint account as required by the IRS. If I don't, the IRS will penalize me.
