In a statement, Bloomberg said: "Politics have no place in health care. Breast cancer screening saves lives and hundreds of thousands of women rely on Planned Parenthood for access to care. We should be helping women access that care, not placing barriers in their way."

Only problem is, Planned Parenthood does not do Breast cancer screening itself. That is the reason the Susan G Komen for the Cure group cut the funds is that fact. As usual, liberal/socialist are trying to make a logical decision into a political one.

I am straight, white, male and conservative. Now what else can I do to piss you off today?

This has nothing to do with abortion, but I believe that abortion should be OK during the first trimester and only in cases of rape, incest, or the life of the mother.

Planned Parenthood disagrees with that Buck. They avidly promote on-demand abortion. If the Susan G. Komen Foundation choses to support Planned Parenthood, I will not support the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

I agree with you Buck on this point, unfortunately that isn't what planned parenthood is all about~! :bigemo_harabe_net-95:

Hard to find unbiased information on this community service, The most unbiased was Wikipedia who states that 3% of their resources are used for abortion.

Wikipedia is a far left wing source for political information Buck. The stated reason for the pulling of support is that Planned Parenthood does not do breast cancer screenings which is what the Susan G. Komen Foundation funds. It is you far left liberal/socialists who are trying to make some kind of political issue out of it.

Common sense made Susan G. Komen Foundation knuckle under and do the right thing. The women's vote will have a big effect on the vote for president in November 2012.

OK in cases of rape? I know one woman who was conceived in rape, who is now a lawyer and a mother of four who would take particular umbrage with that statement.

Make the infant pay for the crimes of its sperm donor? A double crime?

Yeah. Some justice.

BTW-- as I stated in a Facebook post earlier today..
It seems to me to be absurd that the Komen foundation, a foundation which was first and foremost set up to save the lives of women everywhere, would give financial support to another foundation that not only does not have mammography equipment in the first place, but at the very least has played a large part in the untimely demise of over 45,000,000--FORTY FIVE MILLION-- victims, probably at least half of whom were developing females.

"Coersion and intimidation are tools for mobs and tyrants.."

Common sense had nothing to do with the equation. It was browbeating, coersion, and intimidation by the Planned Parenthood brownshirts.

The Planned Parenthood Crowd and their supporters-- and I don't say this lightly, and I truly believe this applies-- are nothing but goose-stepping Nazis.

It ain't invoking Godwin if the analogy fits.

Planned Parenthood just doesn't support abortion on demand-- hell--that's how they make their money-- by killing pre-born infants! Those ghouls make their living, literally, off of the corpses of the babies they kill!

So the way it turns out...if I donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, I am supporting on-demand abortion. And that is enough to make me NOT want to support the Komen Foundation. That's a sad state of affairs... But I can't talk out of both sides of my mouth, so my previously avid support of them has stopped. I'll find another avenue to support a cure for breast cancer...one that doesn't knuckle under to cretins. It's too bad...

Abortion regardless of the reason for the pregnancy is the taking of a life. Call it what it is. The only biblical reason for abortion is if the life of the mother is in danger. As unfortunate as rape or incest is, that still is no biblical reason for taking that child's life. Planned Parenthood uses abortion as a birth control method. The current dogma of the abortionists is that if abortion is made illegal, then unsafe back-street abortions would be rampant. But these dogmaticsts do not address the reason for needing an abortion in the first place. Actions have consequences; pregnancies occur due to actions.
My wife and sister-in-law are breast cancer survivors, as well are many other friends. I am a cancer survivor, as are two of my brothers. I will suppport organizations that are activily researching cures, but I will not support a foundation that gives in to blackmail.
My wife is a retired pharmacy techician. Several years ago, an morning-after pill hit the market. She told the druggist that she would not prepare nor sell that drug. The pharmacist told her not to worry about it, since he refused to stock it. This in a WalMart pharmacy. Good for both of them. Would that we all take such a stand.
For those who say a right to what happens to their own body, I ask: Why is prostitution illegal in 49 of the 50 states? Why is some drug use illegal? After all, it's the prostitute's body, and the drug abuser is abusing his own body, right?
