You keep ignoring the two facts that you say didn't happen.

1.

Quote

Sandusky was first subjected to child abuse charges when the District Attorney of Centre County, Pennsylvania, Ray Gricar dismissed the charges despite evidence and a statement from a victim that Sandusky was showering in the nude with minors and fondling young boys.

2. Even though the charges were dismissed Joe fired Sandusky.

Joe can not force the authorities to do more than that. Your saying he should have done more is pure speculation on your part. You have no proof that he did not do everything he could do. Either that or you know far less about the time line and situation than you are claiming to know.

Since this post originated, there have been 1194 views and 180 posts. Many of those posts are long on accusation, innuendo and supposition and short on provable fact with an occasional ad hominem thrust added. To my knowledge, no one on this forum wants a pedophile to remain on the loose, and no one wants those who may have been in a position to do something to prevent that to escape. Personally, I do not intend a rush to judgement based on the aforementioned accusations, innuendos and suppositions. Those who fall into the camp of "Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up" are free to do so if they wish.

Well, after reading the testimony from the new grand jury hearings, I think I will back off of wanting to give Joe Pa a pass on this one. Seems he did know just about (if not quite all) how bad Sandusky's transgressions were. According to one statement, Paterno "...slumped in the chair as if he'd been hit in the solar plexis..." Sure sounds to me like he knew more than enough to do more than what he did. I'd say he failed miserably...not as a coach, but as a father, a man and as a human being. I hope he can find a way to live with himself in the last few years of his life. I also hope he spends a lot of time in prayer asking for forgiveness. What a sorry spectacle this whole thing has become. So better late than never, IG and Center Punch, I'm with you guys on this one now.

I wanted to give OJ the benefit of the doubt too 16 years ago. I was just as wrong then too...

:yeahright:

I just can't believe that the Child Advocacy people in our state and fed. level .gov weren't called in.... by anyone in both the private and public sectors.

Lots of cover up by everyone and all it would have taken was a little bit of initiative by someone with integrity to make that call or set up the meeting...

I'm with Wing on this one. There is now solid evidence coming forth, not speculation.
(However, I was never on OJ's side.)
