I also wish all of you Irish also a very happy St. Paddy's day, but please if you go out and drink, have a designated driver to take you home. In 1981 my brother didn't and he wound up a quad for 14 years before he went home with our Lord. Enjoy and be safe and alive tomorrow....

May you be in
Heaven a half hour before the
Devil knows you're dead!

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
May the best day of your past
Be the worst day of your future.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
May those who love us, love us
And those who don't love us,
May God turn their hearts
And if he can't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limping!

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
As you slide down the banister of life,
May the splinters never point in the wrong direction!

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
May your neighbors respect you,
Troubles neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And Heaven accept you.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
May you have:
A world of wishes at your command
God and his angels close at hand
Friends and family their love impart,
And Irish blessings in you heart.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
These things I warmly wish to you-
Someone to love
Some work to do
A bit o' sun
A bit o' cheer
And a guardian angel always near.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Here's to a long life and a merry one
A quick death and an easy one
A pretty girl and an honest one
A cold beer and another one!

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,
May good luck pursue you each morning and night,

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
May your home always be too small to hold all your friends.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
'Tis better to buy a small bouquet
And give to your friend this very day,
Than a bushel of roses white and red
To lay on his coffin after he's dead.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way-
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Dance as if no one were watching,
Sing as if no one were listening,
And live every day as if it were your last.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Go mbeannai Dia duit!

~Mickey

A great, Authentic Irish Pub. The young man playing the flute (son of a former coworker of my wife) is ranked something like 5th in the world in Irish Dancing. He is going to Belfast soon for an attempt at the championship.

Can you find Squid!! He's in both pictures....

Squid, one of my favorite Irish drinking songs is "Lark in The Morning". I think I got the title correct. You probably have heard it. It is about a plowboy that has a romp in the hay with a young lady with expected results.

Back when Napster was free I recorded several great Irish and Celtic songs.

I don't know names of songs, but I'll check that one out. And nobody in Ireland really says "Top 'O' th Mornin to ya' . I learned that recently, much to my dismay. I also found out that St. Patrick's Day is not celebrated like we do here. In fact, it's said to be celebrated much like our President's day, not much fanfare at all.

However, I look forward to a few Half and Halfs this evening nonetheless!!

I forgot to post this for any fellow Irish Catholic members here on St.Pat's Day. Forgive me--I you ye a pint.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Richard John O'Neuhaus writes:

It is St. Patrick’s Day, and almost everywhere in American Catholicism where the Irish have clout, which is almost everywhere, an episcopal indult permits an exception today to the rule of no meat on Fridays in Lent. Abstinence from meat is the least of it in New York. As former governor Hugh Carey explained the grand old day to me some years ago, “All day it’s marching up Fifth Avenue, and all night it’s staggering down Third Avenue.” Third Avenue is not alone in having an Irish bar about every hundred feet or so, about the distance that some can make it between drinks.

In truth, the day in honor of New York’s patron saint has become somewhat less rowdy in recent years. Although nobody manages to throw a city-wide party quite like the Irish. They come in from all the surrounding counties to remind the world that when one says “Church” he’d better mean the one, holy, catholic, apostolic, and Irish Church.

And then there is the 222nd annual dinner of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. A business friend who bought a table has invited me, so I’ll be there, quietly pondering deep thoughts about what it means for Christians to be in but not of the world on St. Patrick’s Day in New York.
Wis 1:1-4
1. Love justice, you who judge the earth; think of the LORD in goodness, and seek him in integrity of heart;
2. Because he is found by those who test him not, and he manifests himself to those who do not disbelieve him.
3. For perverse counsels separate a man from God, and his power, put to the proof, rebukes the foolhardy;
4. Because into a soul that plots evil wisdom enters not, nor dwells she in a body under debt of sin.

I agee with Jack on Squid. Not sure about his wife, though. I'd probably put my money with Jack on that one, too.

Well, just because the guy in the purple shirt has been guessed I will guess the guy in the green shirt on the very right hand side of the second picture and his wife is the lady on the left in the first picture.

Put me down for a Canadian Toonie, on the guy in the ball-cap and the black Tee.... NEXT to the "green guy".
I still have all my teeth, so I don't look at other guy's wives. :rotfl:

Are you sure that second picture wasn't a remake of Saturday Night Fever with Squid waiting his turn to compete? :banana2:

I guessed him right away too.

I love Celtic music. My family traces it's roots back to Ireland through Canada. Love the music, but can't say I could jig very well anymore.
