I think I know where Buddy is coming from and support his efforts to maintain this place. Some of us go back years to that day when this place became a refuge from the old Fire forum. And the place was vibrant and active. I don't mean to be putting words in Buddy's mouth, but he wants active discussions...not a library.

Strong willed and opinionated people drive discussion forums. And it is a delicate balancing act that allows the mix of emotions and beliefs remain under one roof. No matter what your former background was, there is no skill set that prepares an administrator for this job. All administrators fall flat on their face from time to time. The point of no return can come, if active members move on. Those remaining can claim somewhat of a victory, if ideology is more important than interaction. From reading some of the comments here, it sounds like those who are among the eight posts a day want it that way. And are willing to fund the library. But Buddy wants to discuss 'stuff'. That is why he has a 'discussion' forum, not a library in the title.

Awhile back, an attempt was made to turn the corner here. And at that time it was met with many of the same remarks.."we like it just the way it is"...don't change a thing Buddy, you are great and this place is great". Great for who? Certainly not great for somebody who wants to engage regularly in discussions. Yes I know, most of you folks are busy with your lives and devote as much time and energy to tis place as you have available. You read the posts and from time to time make a comment. Eight a day. On a busy night, this place once had that many posts in 20 minutes.

I'm with you Buddy. I'm busy at another place most of the time, but this will always be the home town. It is sad that there are weeds growing on the playground, that was once occupied by so many. To me that question is " how to bring back under one roof the strong willed and opinionated. From the tone of the semi regulars here, it would have to be without their consent or approval. They don't want to mix it up too much with those who think differently than they do. And if they must from time to time, they do what it takes to chase them off. It's comfy here for them.

What do you want Buddy? I miss mixing it up with you. I miss some of the shouting around here.
Just can't post without twisting the truth can you?

Here are the facts and you should be ashamed of yourself for lying about this stuff.

.....I have a problem with people lying about things.

I only attack the idiots who base their opinions on things that aren't true. And the intensity of that attack increases with the amount of times said idiot has been shown the truth.

The intensity of the attack also increases when the said idiot runs away from the truth, dodges fact revealing questions, and then starts up their illogical, irrational, and irresponsible "opinion" all over again....

CP,...

...You said to GM: You didn't represent the truth. I point it out. Which truth are you talking about? Or is it your opinion?

:runaway:
He said I pounce on anyone I don't agree with for saying good morning. I positively don't do that. If you were so inclined, you could ask buckshot about the conversations we have had here when he has talked about his boats. You could also ask the telcoman how I responded when he posted up about his wife's health issues.

Their truthfull answers would absolutely prove that I don't just pounce on liberals/democrats/socialists whenever they open their mouths.
GM's assertion is a lie wheather realized or not.

(You, a proponent of socialism, could now truthfully say as well that I didn't pounce on you for making this post...)

When those liberals/democrats/socialists post false information, I do pounce on them and I won't apologise for it.
After all, they are the ones who have years worth of history on disrespecting the members here by refusing to ackowlege facts prestened to them... over and over and over. For years they have been keeping conversations going in circles with their trolling posts.

Right now there are threads on the first page which prove how Fr. Mike says something that isn't the truth, then when he's presented with the truth and asked to refute it, he runs away and then returns to post more lies like this.

The circle of no progress continues with him. It's his comfort zone and there are many, many members here who don't support it.

First let me thank you for your comments. All comments are appreciated by the administrators of this board.

I could be wrong but from the statements wich were made at the time and which have been made since the great exodus, the reason people left this board was because of actions which I took as an administrator. It was not because they were run off by people on this board who don't want to mix it up. Apparently forgiveness by those who left is not possible except by a few.

Since the changes I made from suggestions by members a few days ago have been made the participation has increased some what. But it is still not what it should be. The only solution I see is for new blood to join the board. I have ask three people to join and two of them have done so. However they have not made a post as of yet. I will get to see them personally in a couple of weeks. I will find out why when I talk to them. I encourage everyone to invite anyone you know to join the board.

Lastly let me make this statement. I will not be joining another board.
Even if this place shuts down I will not join another board. This place is my internet home and if it goes away then so will I.

I say that Buck because on the F&I members like Jim Miller and Irongoat are call lairs, stupid , imbeciles, tea baggers, and other derogatory names all the time. I could also come up with examples on The Congress. That is not the problem or both of those boards would not have much discussion or participation going on either. That argument has been proven wrong time and time again. It is only an excuse for the real reason.

What is your vision for Unto The Breach Buck?

Oh my. LOL. Wormtongue.

That's a good one. I don't run from confrontations, or sit in a safe zone filled with those who all think alike. But I am busy with other projects that take me away from thread here for a bit. Keep throwing the names out, they are fun to read.

Wing, it is like a disease that I have caught over the years to be posting here on this forum, just can't stand being away. I have scars on me from forums like the spoof, F and I, and also here. My skin has toughened, and I hoped that that I could contribute in some small way. I think that the the crier and buddies topics are all to political for others to engage in. Look at all the topics at the Congress mostly, they have topics from gays, to you just name it. Politics seem to be to be the only theme here, and just won't continue to be something that most, and potential members, want to discuss. Look carefully at the topics that have been presented.....

May I suggest that you look carefully at what I had the Crier post. At one time it was posting all kinds of subjects from Fox Science and hardly anyone made a comment about those posts. Including you. Nope, your analysis does not hold water. Try again.

Quick question Buddy. Our internet at work is being monitored by a 'proxy watchdog'. When I try to access The Breach, it says I can't, but the reason is 'Real Estate'. Any idea why that is??

I plead guilty of visiting the board on an almost daily basis but posting very little.
Many times it is because an article that I find interesting or important has already been posted.

If a non-member browsing the Unto The Breach site and came upon the front page with the cartoon, it could be enough to disinterest them from looking further, let alone registering. Today's is not the first cartoon some may find somewhat off-color or offensive. Just an observation.
